What are the services Cambrian provides for the Regional Center client?
Respite caregivers assist with care according to the client’s authorization. These services can include hygiene care, socialization, after school or pm care. Click here for a more detailed listing of services.
What is the minimum number of hours a caregiver can come to my home?
There are locations where the two-hour minimum service cannot be offered. In those areas the minimum is three hours. Be sure to consult your Respite Team leader to verify your hours minimum.
What if I do not feel comfortable with the caregiver?
If you, your child and your caregiver are not a good match, we will respond immediately to make changes and ensure your sense of safety and compatibility in the home. Caregiver interviews may also be arranged. Contact your Team Leader if this is an option you are interested in. We are committed to providing the Right Caregiver, at the Right Place, at the Right Time, Doing the Right Thing.
What do I do if there are problems? Of any kind?
Call us immediately! We are here to assist you and ensure you are safe and secure in your home. We will always partner with you to find a solution to your problems in the home, no matter the issue.
What if I have more than one child who is in the home? Can I receive care for the other child who is not Developmentally Disabled?
We offer a sibling care program. The cost is very reasonable. Call (877) 422-2270 to arrange for sibling care.
Are there any restrictions to what Cambrian Homecare can provide?
Our Respite caregivers are non-medical personnel who provide hands-on care but do not do medical procedures.
Under another program, Cambrian Homecare can provide LVN Respite care performing services required of a licensed nurse. The licensed LVN can care for trach tubes, gastrostomy tubes, urinary catheters, skin care and other tasks as ordered by the physician, overseen by an RN case manager and approved by the Regional Center.
What if I need to cancel a caregiver?
We have a four hour cancellation policy for all of our services. Of course, emergencies occur and you may need to cancel as issues arise for you in your home. However, if possible, please give us as much time as you can.
What if the caregiver cancels?
We have a four hour cancellation policy for all of our caregivers as well. If the caregiver needs to cancel for whatever reason, we are committed to finding another caregiver for you and will work closely with you to ensure the smoothest transition possible.
What if I have heavy housekeeping needs? Does your company provide that service?
Heavy housekeeping is not offered through the in-home respite program. Respite services include light home pick up and the assurance that the caregiver will tidy the area of the child within the duration of the visit. Cambrian can provide a caregiver specifically dedicated to care of your home, for another fee. Just ask and we will help you meet your needs.
Do my hours roll over from month to month?
Each regional center has a different policy on roll over hours. Please contact your Team Leader to clarify your authorization. It is very important not to go over your hours authorized.
Can the caregiver take my child to the park or outside my home?
Each regional center has a different policy on this according to the authorization. Please contact your Team Leader to clarify this allowance. In most cases, services are to be provided within the home only.
